Where is Zora?

Alice Walker was on a full on quest to finding more about Zora Neale Hurston. She went to Hurstons hometown and got straight to business. Walker visited a bank where she indeed found Hurstons real niece. She was getting closer and closer. Walker went to the cemetery and risked her life, and getting in trouble to find Hurstons grave site. Walker contacted some of Hurstons "friends" and got a lot of information that she didn't think she would receive. Like the fact that Hurston liked to eat, and she was a fat woman? Yeah, Walker found everything she was looking for. Walker takes so much pride into what Zora Neale Hurston wrote, and it makes her upset that no one really knows who she is. She feels they share a common bound, them being the same ethnicity.

Clueless Janie

Janie thought she had all the aanswers.
The pear tree is where she would go,
to think about the things she didn't know.

Married a man to please her Nanny,
she didn't know she was so unsavvy.
She finally realizes her grandma was so wrong,
she has to get out once and for all.

"why am i so happy" she said.
she finally found the answer to her doubts.
Joe Sparks comes walking in,
"ill make your life better" he said.
Little did she know it was just another trap.

Running off without a care in the world.
"I'll have everything i want, she thinks.
this is what love feels like, i know it.
this is my new beggining."

Or is it.

The Upcoming Year

Blog: "There are years that ask questions and years that answer."  Write a speculative response on what the upocoming year will hold for Janie.  Will this eyar be the year that asks questions or one that answers them?  Will this be the year that does both?  Respond to at least three peers.

In chapter three, Janie explains to Nanny how unhappy. She tries so hard to love her husband Logan but she can't. Nanny doesnt understand how though. Logan begins to open up to Janie and she see's the real him. Joe, a random man that starts talking to Janie, see's her  working and he immediately tells her that she should'nt be doing work like that , her husband should.
Joe Tells her he can give her the life she wants, and give her everything she needs. Janie is confused about it, but finally gets fed up with Logan, leaves him and marries Joe the same day.
The upcoming year will have both answers and questions. Answering the reason why she she was so unhappy with Logan, and asking if Joe is actually good for her.

It’s normal to keep feelings hidden from the person you marry.

Honesty is the best policy. Marriage is a relationship between two people who love and care for each other. Someone you can be yourself around, someone you can make life long decisions with, someone who will except you for who you are and what you do is all within the package. Keeping things from one another is not okay. Keeping secrets, and hiding feelings is basically contradicting your marriage. Why would you marry someone you don't trust? Are your planning on sleeping with one eye open? When you marry, you are making the decision to trust your partner to share the rest of your life with.

If one feels they must hide things from the person they marry, then they obviously should have thought twice about marrying that person. Communication is vital to keeping a relationship healthy and strong. Hidden feelings may become a problem and may become stronger and harder to keep. Keeping things from your spouse is not normal, and it should not be an option when being in such a committed relationship.

The Creative Ways of Fitzgerald

And, after boasting this way of my tolerance, I come to the admission that it has a limit.
Conduct may be founded on the hard rock or the wet marshes, but after a certain point I don’t care what it’s founded on.
When I came back from the East last autumn I felt that I wanted the world to be in uniform and at a sort of moral attention forever; I wanted no more riotous excursions with privileged glimpses into the human heart....

If personality is an unbroken series of successful gestures, then there was something gorgeous about him, some heightened sensitivity to the promises of life, as if he were related to one of those intricate machines that register earthquakes ten thousand miles away.
This responsiveness had nothing to do with that flabby impressionability which is dignified under the name of the “creative temperament.”— it was an extraordinary gift for hope, a romantic readiness such as I have never found in any other person and which it is not likely I shall ever find again. . Marry for Money?

Love is indescribable. When you deeply love someone, and your ready to tie the knot, you do it! Some people get married for the wrong reasons like to get legal documents, or because their drunk in Vegas! The worst thing someone can do, is marry for money. Marriage is about being with someone you love and care about. If you marry someone just because they have money, you will more than likely be unhappy, be diagnosed with depression, and die. Marrying for money is shallow, and selfish. Everyone is capable of finding a job, and making their own money, but laziness becomes a big factor.
What comes out of marrying someone for money? Yes, you can buy fancy clothes, and nice purses, but that money could possibly run out. What would happen then? You would be lonely, and money-less! Point blank do not marry for money. When you think about it, its really not worth it.

Assimilation.

Assimilation is the diversity of people in one area. Smaller groups of different cultural ideas come together to gain and share information. Take the U.S for example, it is referred to as the "Melting Pot". This nation among many things is the definition of diversity.  People from all over the world come to the U.S and "rub off on us".

Beneatha is an African American woman. These typical woman don't usually take guitar lessons, of horseback riding lessons, or go to college to be a doctor! Since America has changed, woman received the right to vote, take on male oriented jobs, and are seen differently by most of the male community. The reader can tell Beneatha is concerned about assimilation, because all she wants to do is fit in.

High school is the perfect example of assimilation. Whether your a jock or a gangster or a nerd, you may have so many things in common. Obviously they all have something different, but that's what assimilation is all about; The sharing or gaining of ideas.

Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover!

You might lose the opportunity on being friends with a truly amazing person, if you take one look at them and say "ew i don't like her." Some people that don't know me say i'm stuck up. I don' know where people get that! Time to time i get the occasional "Denise, is so CONCEITED!" , but honestly? I'M NOT! People judge me because i actually take the time to comb my hair, and groom myself! Like its not my fault some people like going ugly to school! I actually am a really nice, down to earth person once you get to know me. I think outer appearance is super important. say your preppy and you see a goth girl? If your nice enough you'll go talk to her, BUT if your not, you will not go talk to her, promise! Me? ill talk to anyone that's around me, but the way people present themselves, is the only thing that matters. My family is not rich but we may have luxuries that other people don't have. Doesn't mean we judge! Some people just need to stop judging and  come talk to me or add me on facebook or twitter or something! Then they'll know what kind of person I am.

-XOXO Denise (:

Our family or our individual desires?

Say I wanted to go to college. Yes that's an individul desire, but what if my family were to go poor if I went? In order for an individul desire to become reality, we need our family as our support system! Family to me is everything. As selfish as I am at times, I would never put myself before my family. They go to all my dance performances, and my parents paid for all my dance team fee's. If is wasn't for them, this individual desire wouldn't have became true! In choosing my family over my individual desire, my family would win, every single time :)
